SNUV Black League 15g
SNUV Black League 15g
Snuv Black Range is a perfectly balanced blend of Rustica and Virginia tobaccos.
The color of the snuff is almost black. A fairly coarse grind along the lines of classic Bayern Prise German snuff, with a dash of paraffin oil which gives these snuffs their distinctive fluffy feel and also helps prevent the moisture from drying out.
Snuff Black League owes its origins to a desire to make a Poschl Packard's Club type snuff, except better. Snuv Black League has a powerful menthol hit with floral overtones. Out the tin the aroma is absolutely wonderful. Seriously, it took me ages to actually want to take a sniff because I was just soaking up the glorious smells.
Black League is very complex; it clearly has lots different aroma compounds hitting the olfactory receptors and it entices the brain to take the time to sort them out. There are smells that transport me to places and times from my adventurous youth till recent times.
Trying to place them, as the memories are stirred and dusted off, is at once frustrating and yet gratifying that they even exist all. Finally I snuffed a good sized pinched. I have to say that it is unusual that new snuffs "wow" me.
Black League has done just that. It is a glorious snuff that is difficult to put into words. It feels so personal. I had wonderful warm feelings; relaxed and at peace with the world.
Snuv Black League is well named. It is certainly in the league of the finest of snuffs, if not in a league of its own.
If you enjoy a mentholated snuff, or even if you can just tolerate menthol, I thoroughly endorse and recommend Snuv Black League. (Review by Mr.Snuff Founder)

Love this snuff , opens the airways without the burn, reminds me of an antique car with polished leather seats
I've had a lot of mentholated snuffs. Normally, I'm not a fan of them. This is an exception. It is without a doubt, the strongest menthol snuff I've had. Yet somehow, the menthol accentuates the complex flavors found here. A smorgasbord of baking spices and malts, if the flavor doesn't get you, the menthol will, followed by a great dollop of nicotine. A beautiful semi-gross black snuff, I highly recommend it. It will wake up your sinuses like nobody's business. Delightfully painful, as soon as the burn ends, it's hard not reach for another pinch. And this is coming from someone who normally shies away from menthol snuffs.
Dark in can and moist and fluffy, the snuff from Ipanema goes walking and when it passes each nose it passes goes “ah!” ….
League is one of the best snuffs I have ever had. It took me a long time to write this review because I could not adequately express my thoughts about it. Black and coarsely ground, salt crystals shimmer in the tin like an open-pit diamond mine. It is a global fusion of flavours carried by a blend of North and South American tobaccos prepared in traditional Teutonic style. High in nicotine with a mild burn upon uptake, League’s depth and complexity forces the user to sit down and think about the experience being offered. Like a déjà-vu, it confuses by combining the improbability of nostalgia with the reality of the unfamiliar. Morphing like a kaleidoscope, its lingering flavours subtly move from menthol to tobacco to flowers to fruit and back again in a continuing chain reaction that tortures the mind and imprisons the soul, like a siren drawing sailors to the shoal.
