Poschl Radford Premium 10g
Poschl Radford Premium 10g
Poschl Radford Premium is quite a different blend than its original namesake. This version tends more towards a tangy cocoa sweetened with a predominantly minty taste. The combination is precisely proportioned to render the highest quality product of this art form. A manufactured amalgam of flavors is supported by a classic German synthesis, being a slightly sticky and fluffy mix of quality fermented tobaccos. The nose feel is quite moderate and is backed with a nice wallop of nicotine. This is an offering to be savored much like a Grasshopper cocktail on a warm summer evening.

I absolutely love this snuff. It is one of Poschl's best!
One of the things I'm finding as I work my way through all of the Poschl snuffs I have purchased is that they are uniformly pleasant and easy to take. This snuff was certainly no exception. Upon cracking open the tapbox, I was greeted with delightful peppermint, menthol, and dark chocolate aromas. Once this snuff hit the front of my nose, it delivered dominant notes of peppermint and dark chocolate that were balanced by subtler impressions of bread, fig, raisin, black cherry, blackberry, date, hay, grass, earth, menthol, spearmint, and brown sugar. Occasionally, I could pick up on barely perceptible impressions of juniper and pine as well. The snuff sat in the nose very well. Its medium or perhaps slightly higher moisture content and fluffy medium grind ensured that. The nicotine content was not overwhelming or particularly noticeable. More than anything, it was gently invigorating, though the nicotine was capable of sneaking up on me at times due to my tendency to take a number of large bumps in quick succession. While there are more powerful Poschl snuffs, this one is perhaps most noteworthy for its wonderful balance and easygoing, likable nature. Definitely a quality product and one I would recommend to curious snuffers.
Very nice minty and chocolate flavors. It's like snuffing an Andes Mint. Not bad for a tap tin.
I tried this one on a whim. It has the best snuff box design I have ever seen. At first sniff this reminded me slightly of Alpina. But instead of berry, menthol and chocolate, this is is chocolate, mint, and menthol. Has a hint of fruit at the first sniff that fades into the chocolate. This is one of the very best snuffs I have ever tried. Smells like creme de cacao and creme de menthe in the nose after a minute. Don't hestitate to try this, it is one of the greatest snuffs.
Remember those Andes mints? This snuff smells/tastes like that. Minty chocolate, for anyone not aware.
