Janta Indian Rustica has a strong, full bodied taste that uses the finest quality flu cured Andhra Pradesh tobaccos that provide a rich and distinct aroma. Moist hay, mushroom and tanned leather complement the natural spicy and sweet molasses scent. This base note is then enhanced with one of several popular flavors.

Janta Rustica Special adds a medicated flavor to the selection. A classic mixture of mentholated spices that traditionally provide a sinus clearing effect always sought by the experienced snuffer. There is always room for the fresh and tingling sensation provided by this ubiquitous mixture of aromatics. Well worth a try and will help keep your spirits high.

Wow

Newbie to nasal snuff here. Man this is good. It is extremely aromatic which lingers for a while. I bought a bunch of nasal snuff from here and this one by far was the most harsh, but not in a negative way. It sent me to space instantly however. Really enjoying this snuff, but this one is a bit too aromatic for me for daily use.

Umami Menthol

Menthol snuffs are frequently combined with camphor in order to give them a sharp cooling sensation that is touted as “medicated.” Born of the coal mine, snuffs like “JIP” or “Struco” are so strong that they cut through congestion like a jackhammer though concrete. Others are so cool, like McChrystal’s “Glacier” or Poschl’s “Gletcher Prise,” that you are transported to Annapurna as it settles. Uptake can sometimes feel like snorting Tiger Balm or VapoRub. They get your attention by clearing the airways, like chimney-sweeps shoving over-sized brushes though sooty flues; the nicotine keeps bringing you back.

“Special” is a different experience. While being mentholated it is not medicated. Perhaps it is all a question of dosage. It seems to be based JNF’s Indian Rustica “Standard” with menthol added as topping. At first address, it smells very much like “Standard” but with a distinct coolness. Upon uptake, the snake bite dissipates into a celebration of mint wrapped in hay, mushrooms, and leather; creating an umami taste that is both unusual and sophisticated. Well versed in nicotine, “Special” has the consistency of dried silt that becomes powdery once scrapped-off by a snuff spoon. In lieu of deep inhalations, repeated micro-doses are recommended.
