Sir Walter Scotts - Field of Junipers
Sir Walter Scotts - Field of Junipers
Sir Walter Scott's Field of Junipers has a medium-fine grind with slightly moist texture and medium-high nicotine. The blend combines American Virginia and Punjabi Rustica tobaccos, lightly toasted and scented with juniper berries as the primary note.
The aroma is juniper-forward with fruity and tart characteristics, supported by secondary berry notes. Tasting notes include bread, fruity, and smoky elements, with the base tobacco contributing darker notes of toasted bread and leather. The colour is medium-brown.

I have to assume I got a bad tin, because I can smell absolutely nothing aside from plain tobacco. It's like a mild Wilson's Irish no. 22. Absolutely zero juniper/berry. I also ordered Princess Juana, and there was no such issue with that tin, huge violet. The tobacco itself is nice, just not at all what I was looking for.
Upon snuffing it it's like a blast of berries mountains and fresh Mountain Air barely any burn whatsoever there's some hints of some other things in there of flavor but I can't quite place it they're all good things though this is definitely made by a Master's Hand the scent lingers long and is very enjoyable I'm glad I got the 50-gram tin one thing I have to say is they do not cheat you on a 50g Tin I mean they pack it to the top!now! The nicotine level is on the high end it comes on evenly I'm fairly quickly all in all this is an excellent snuff and worth the price.
For me, this is the very finest of Sir Johnny's snuffs, all of which are excellent and among my favourites. There is something a bit ethereal about it, a touch of spider webs and moonlight. I often carry this in one of my best boxes when I go to slightly upmarket events and parties, it's the kind of snuff you feel would be right for the opera or when you are wearing black tie. I guess for some people, it could be an all day snuff, but I prefer to save it for special occasions.
A little coarse, but moist, fluffy, and easy to take. Pretty complex with notes of wood, tree bark, earth, and juniper with an excellent tobacco all throughout. A bit clogging once in a while, but pleasant and satisfying. Lasting, but not sweet like snuffs of this caliber tend to be, for me at least. Highly recommended.
Indescribably moorish. Moist, creamy and refined. Notes of a forest in the summer, warm and humid. If vanilla were savoury, bottom notes have blasts of umame without any saltiness. A little bit clogging, but then again I have managed to overindulge. I do hope the bulk quantities are available once I get round to making a proper order of this.
